A national criminal background check is required for approval of an intern contract.

Job Description

This is an internship program for College Financial Representatives at Northwestern Mutual Philadelphia.

Program Goal: To provide college students with guidance, connection, and a framework for building an integrated financial planning practice from the ground up, mimicking the full-time Financial Representative career.
Timeline: Internships are available in Fall 2025, Spring 2026, or Summer 2026, with the option to participate year-round.
Role Overview: College Financial Representatives, coming from diverse academic backgrounds, will have the unique opportunity to build a financial planning practice. This involves engaging with local and nationwide experts, selling exclusive financial products, and benefiting from the support of a Fortune 500 company. The program aims to help interns build confidence, develop a professional network, and empower people to achieve financial freedom. Hard work is emphasized as a key to success.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
• Learning how to prospect and network to build a personal business and client base.
• Developing and executing a business strategy.
• Calling on potential clients and setting meetings to understand their financial goals.
• Preparing financial plans and offering useful recommendations.
• Gaining exposure to proprietary planning software platforms.
• Engaging in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
• Obtaining the Life, Accident, and Health insurance license.

Compensation & Benefits:
