Job Description: Facility Engineering Internship
This is for a Facility Engineering Internship position located in Deer Park, TX, offering a unique opportunity to gain practical experience and insights into the Environmental-Industrial Waste Management Industry, Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, and the mechanical integrity program. The role is designed for individuals who are enthusiastic about learning and eager to contribute to the team, take on new challenges, and grow their career.
The internship offers a wage of $25 per hour and is available for the Summer and Fall 2025 periods. Housing is not provided, and candidates are preferred to live within a commutable distance from Deer Park, TX.
Key Responsibilities are broadly distributed as:
• 50% document control-data analysis
• 25% Project Management assistance
• 25% in the field
Specific Responsibilities Include:
• Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of the Mechanical Integrity Program.
• Learning about corrosion mechanisms and actively participating in corrosion monitoring and mitigation activities.
• Gaining exposure to Process Safety Management (PSM) principles, which encompasses elements such as Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOCs), Operating Procedures, Incident Investigation, and other critical PSM components.
• Demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
• Adhering strictly to safety protocols and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, including the foundational pillars of Process Safety Management (PSM).
Qualifications Sought:
• Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor Engineering Program (Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial) in your Junior or Senior years, or a recent graduate.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in CAD or similar software for updating and modifying engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and piping ISOs (Isometrics) is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Highly motivated and a self-starter with the capability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with all levels of the organization.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Capable of climbing ladders, stooping, bending, and standing for prolonged periods.
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions and at heights.
