Job Description
This posting is for an Advanced Manufacturing Internship within Eaton’s CTO Corporate Technology Office division.
The hourly rate for this position is $20.77 per hour. It is noted that this salary information is a general guideline, and actual salaries may vary based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market/business considerations.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
• Assist in both chemical and mechanical analysis of components.
• Machine prototype parts and test specimens.
• Operate and maintain additive manufacturing machines to ensure maximum machine up-time and production throughput.
• Perform post-processing steps for completed Additive Manufacturing (AM) jobs, which will involve a variety of tasks such as cleaning, surface treatments, part separation, machining, and various manual processes.
• Track related consumable supplies and alert responsible personnel when additional supplies are needed.
• Collaborate with the team on process improvements.
• Follow standardized file systems and traceability documentation for all machine-related repair or anomaly reported incidents.
• Meet both quality and schedule expectations for tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to the 5S Principle (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
Qualifications:
• Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Must have a High School diploma and be actively enrolled in, or have received, an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 is required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Southfield, MI, will be considered, with the exception of Active Duty Military Service member candidates who are exempt from this geographical limitation.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Therefore, all applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident / ‘Green Card Holder’, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience setting up and operating additive manufacturing and machining equipment.
• Experience with inspection equipment and gaging methods, such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines), etc.
• Prior manufacturing experience with a strong focus on close attention to detail.
