Job Description: Associate Project Engineer Internship
PCG is seeking motivated college students for their summer internship program, providing interns with essential tools and resources to gain insight into the specialty construction industry.
Interns will receive close mentorship and hands-on experience, developing a solid foundation in construction management. Each intern is paired with a mentor and will follow the “Performance Contracting Intern Activities Checklist,” which exposes them to various disciplines within the branch’s business. Weekly Project Recaps are required to document activities, collaborations, and key takeaways.
Examples of tasks include:
• Learning to write detailed proposals.
• Preparing bid analysis and reviews.
• Understanding and demonstrating project scheduling.
• Attending pre-bid walk-throughs.
• Learning project labor control, material handling, and job-cost analysis.
• Managing subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
• Working directly with owners, construction managers, architects, engineers, and contractors.
• Assisting in quantity take-offs.
• Maintaining project documentation and correspondence.
• Understanding financial job cost analysis.
• Learning corporate safety program administration.
• Understanding specialized equipment utilization.
• Tracking and costing value material handling.
