Job Title: Intern Year Round – R&D Undergrad
What Your Job Will Be Like (Responsibilities): As an Intern Year Round – R&D Undergrad, you will be involved in a variety of tasks related to energy storage systems and grid resources. Your responsibilities may include:
• Developing Python models to assess the reliability of grid energy storage systems.
• Creating machine learning models to predict the performance and degradation of energy storage systems.
• Designing optimization algorithms to calculate the optimal dispatch for electric grid resources.
• Collecting data from deployed energy storage systems for the DOE Global Energy Storage Database.
Salary Range: Sandia emphasizes the value of its interns’ contributions to National Security by offering competitive pay rates. Qualifications We Require (Minimum Requirements): To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum criteria:
• Currently attending and enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate program.
• Pursuing a major in science, engineering, or mathematics.
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• The ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident, asylee, or refugee in the U.S.

Qualifications We Desire (Preferred Qualifications): While not strictly required, candidates who possess the following qualifications are preferred:
• Working towards a B.S. in computer science or a related field.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, C, C++, HTML, and CSS.
