Job Description: Field Intern
The Field Intern will undergo health and safety training and learn the fundamentals of FieldCore Turbine and Generator products under the guidance of experienced supervisors/engineers/TFAs. This role involves assisting with various engineering projects of varying sizes and scope under direct supervision.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Undergo training to learn the fundamentals of Turbines and Generator product lines, including environment, health, and safety training required for site visits.
• Develop skill in using FieldCore web-based applications.
• Learn basic technical skills and perform site work with direct instruction and supervision.
• Learn the fundamentals of project management, scheduling, resource loading, and cost control to support the Field Team during major overhauls.
• Assist the SM and Field Engineers to plan jobs, expedite shop repair activities, and facilitate parts orders critical to outages.
• Assist the Service Manager in research and simplification projects.
• Provide remote and on-site support and communications to the FieldCore team.
• Provide general tech/admin assistance to the Ops team, including receiving customer calls, expediting short-notice purchasing and shipping, and organizing activities and logistics.
• Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
• Travel may be required.
• May be assigned other duties to proactively drive FieldCore’s vision and align with the organization’s core values.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
• Current student in a major of Engineering (Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Software, Systems).
• Open to current students who will be returning to their in-class studies upon the completion of the work term.
