Job Description (Product Piping Intern)
This is a remote internship position for a Product Piping Intern at GE Vernova, promoted by Lensa.
Job Summary:
The Product Piping Intern will work in close collaboration with both the Manager and the Technical Leader. The primary objective of this role is to understand the requirements for and subsequently develop Excel-based tools. These tools are crucial for streamlining engineering tasks within the Product Piping team, with the ultimate goal of reducing execution time.
Detailed Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Tool Development: Develop assigned tasks, primarily focusing on tools that interact with the Product Piping team’s databases, with a specific emphasis on the GTCC (Gas Turbine Combined Cycle) database.
• Efficient Project Management: Generate new tools designed to manage project requirements in a more efficient manner, contributing to smoother workflows.
• Automated Reporting: Create automated reports that ensure high quality of data and consistency in processes, providing valuable insights for Top Leadership.
• Process Improvement: Apply Lean and Statistical engineering analyses, techniques, and methodologies to identify areas for improvement and optimize existing processes.
• Non-Conformance Support: Provide support for activities related to Non-Conformances. This includes assisting with problem-solving reports, conducting root cause analysis, and addressing customer escapes.
• Team & Business Contribution: Actively contribute to achieving team and broader business goals and accomplishments, with an aim to improve overall productivity and business responsiveness.
Required Expertise and Skills:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: A strong command of Excel is essential for developing the required tools.
• Programming Languages: Expertise in Visual Basic (VBA), particularly for Excel automation, and Python.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Education: Must be actively studying for a Master’s degree in Quality OR a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (specifically Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related fields), from the 7th semester onwards.
• English Proficiency: An Intermediate to Advanced English level is required. The candidate must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day conversation on various topics, including technical discussions.
• Computer Skills: Strong general computer skills are necessary.
• Programming Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency with programming languages such as Visual Basic (especially in Excel) and Python.
Desired Characteristics:
• Piping Experience: Experience working with Piping related components is highly desired.
• Cross-Functional Environment: A strong desire to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Product Requirements Knowledge: Knowledge of product requirements, indicating an understanding of how products are specified and developed.
• Adaptability: Willingness to work effectively in an environment where priorities can shift frequently.
