Job Description:

Green Power Energy is seeking a Solar Engineering Intern to join their Operations Department at their Annandale, NJ headquarters. This internship focuses on transforming preliminary plans for residential solar projects into fully engineered construction plans. The intern will work with 3rd party engineering software and structural engineers to create permit packages for municipal and utility approval, as well as construction.

Responsibilities:

• Create an Engineering Synopsis: Develop a summary for each customer-approved solar layout.
• Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work with team members to finalize project details.
• Permit Package Creation: Upload synopsis and photos to 3rd party permit package creator.
• Plan Review: Review preliminary project plans for accuracy and revise as needed.
• Structural Engineering Approval: Approve project plans for structural engineering.
• Stamped Plan Management: Organize and receive stamped plans for permitting with regulatory agencies.
• Project Status Management: Manage the status of each project in the company’s CRM system.

Requirements:

• AutoCAD Experience: Experience in AutoCAD is preferred, but not required.
• Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Microsoft Office Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills.
• Motivation: Must be motivated and ready to work.
• Independence and Problem-Solving: Ability to work independently, take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, and manage multiple tasks and projects.
• Creative Thinking: Creative thinker with the ability to make decisions and execute effectively.
