Job Description:
Valmont is seeking a highly motivated Design Drafter Intern for their Global Utility Division in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This internship offers an opportunity to contribute to the Drafting team’s goals while learning best practices from experienced engineers. The intern will gain exposure to various aspects of the business and interact with subject matter experts from different divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Determines changes, corrections and requirements to meet project demands
• Makes sketches for use by other designers/drafters
• Interpret specifications and standards and provide information to others to ensure that customer requirements are met or improved
• Communicates with customers, both oral and written, to resolve specification questions in preparation of drawings
• Provides assistance and input on project basis to other team members in development of shop drawings
• Complies with Company’s attendance policy
• Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations
• Performs other essential functions as directed
Required Qualifications:
• CAD skills including design applications and an ability to convert drawings to 3D models
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrates problem solving/critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Enrolled in accredited college or university and actively pursuing a degree in Drafting & Design
