Job Title: Estimating Intern
Responsibilities:
As an Estimating Intern, you will apply your academic training and skills in a real-world setting. You will assist the estimating team in preparing estimates for assigned construction disciplines. Your responsibilities will include:
• Aiding in reviewing proposal specifications, drawings, and attending pre-bid meetings to help determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
• Assisting in reviewing historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc., to derive unit and person-hour figures.
• Supporting the estimating team by helping to prepare discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoffs of the scope of work. Assisting in calculating material quantity requirements from engineering drawing dimensions.
• Consulting with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Assisting with design review options and recommending the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
• Partnering with the estimating team to prepare and conduct project hand-off meetings between the pursuit team and the project management team.
• Researching and recommending vendors and subcontractors for designated scopes of work to achieve pursuit and cost goals.
• Maintaining knowledge of the Company’s values and strategic plan.
• Supporting published corporate policies.
• Performing additional assignments per management’s direction.
Qualifications:
• Estimating interns/co-ops are required to be currently enrolled in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar program at an accredited technical college or university.
• This will be a 4-month co-op in our Richmond office starting September 2, 2025, and ending December 19, 2025.

Salary: CAD $24.00 – CAD $28.00 per hour.
