The Yolo Superior Court Family Law Facilitator and Self-Help Center provides free assistance to individuals without attorneys in various legal areas.
Job Description:
As an intern, you will work under the supervision of staff attorneys to assist litigants in the following areas:
• Family Law
• Restraining Orders (domestic violence, civil harassment, elder abuse, workplace violence)
• Guardianships
• Conservatorships
• Stepparent Adoptions
• Name Change
• Landlord/Tenant Matters
• Small Claims
Your duties will include:
• Interviewing litigants
• Drafting legal forms and pleadings
• Providing general legal and procedural information
• Researching legal issues
• Observing courtroom proceedings
Note: Specific duties will be tailored to your interests and the needs of the litigants.
