About the Company:

The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin regional health network is a partnership between Froedtert Health and the Medical College of Wisconsin supporting a shared mission of patient care, innovation, medical research and education. Their health network operates eastern Wisconsin’s only academic medical center and adult Level I Trauma center engaged in thousands of clinical trials and studies. The Froedtert & MCW health network includes ten hospitals, nearly 2,000 physicians and more than 45 health centers and clinics drawing patients from throughout the Midwest and the nation.

Job Description:

This is a paid internship opportunity specifically designed for students who are beginning their Respiratory Therapy education program in the fall semester.

Location: Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, WI (On-Site)
FTE: 0.001000 (Likely very part-time, designed around student schedules)
Shift: Shift 4 (Details not provided, but likely evening/night or weekend shift)
Sign-on Bonus: Available
Flexible Scheduling: Offered to support education.

Responsibilities:

As a Respiratory Therapy Intern, you will:

• Perform basic duties to support the Respiratory Care Staff.
• Work in accordance with the hospital’s objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Be assigned a mentor for resource and support.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required: Current enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program and remain in good standing.
Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Experience working in a patient care setting (hospital, nursing home).
Preferred: Inventory/stocking experience.
Required: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

Training Provided:

• Equipment processing and cleaning training.
