Hampton Lumber is a fourth-generation, family-owned company headquartered in Portland, Oregon. They have been in the sawmill business for over 80 years. They operate sawmills in Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia, and market wood products globally. Hampton manages a wholesale and lumber export division, and affiliates like Idaho Timber and RedBuilt handle reload, remanufacturing, engineered wood manufacturing, and sales. Hampton’s forestlands are certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI).
Job Description:
Hampton Lumber is seeking motivated individuals to join their team as Harvest Interns for the upcoming vintage. This is a hands-on, seasonal position offering valuable experience in winery operations during the harvest period. Interns will work closely with the winemaking team, assisting in key production activities:
• Grape receiving
• Fermentation monitoring
• Sanitation
• Cellar work
• Other related duties
Responsibilities of an intern will include (but are not limited to):
• Fruit sorting and sorting operations
• Punch downs, pump overs, and wine additions
• Brix and temperature measurements and other lab work
• Tank and equipment cleaning and sanitization
• Press operations
• Wine transfers, barrel cleaning and filling
