Job Description:
The Brennan Center for Justice is seeking a Development Intern to provide administrative and clerical support to the Development staff in their New York office. This is an in-person internship.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with administrative duties supporting fundraising efforts.
• Conduct prospect research.
• Assist in donor correspondence.
• Update the fundraising database.
• Assist in event organization.
• Prepare mailings to donors.
• Support the individual giving and foundations teams.
• Attend and observe substantive meetings, events, and conversations on program work.
• Provide general administrative, research, and clerical work, including filing, photocopying, answering phones, shipping and mailing, coordinating meetings, drafting routine correspondence, and covering the reception desk.
Qualifications:
• Independent self-starter.
• Detail-oriented.
• Energetic and punctual.
• Highly organized.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Passion for the Brennan Center’s issues.
• Experience with Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
• Database experience is helpful.
• Open to evolving responsibilities.
• Must be a current undergraduate student.
Additional Information:
• Hours: Approximately 10 – 20 hours per week.
• Pay: $17.50 per hour.
• Duration: September – December 2025.
