Kids Above All is seeking master level clinical interns for their Lake County location.

Job Description:

Kids Above All is looking for master-level clinical interns to work at their Lake County location. As an intern, you’ll work closely with the house therapist, meeting together with the clinical supervisor before your start date to ensure a good fit between intern and house.

Details:

• Interns are expected to work approximately 24 hours per week with a consistent and predictable schedule.

Essential Functions:

Providing Auxiliary Clinical Services: Provide individual clinical services to clients as needed and recommended by the treatment team. You may also take on additional family cases as recommended.
Milieu Work: Work with all clients in the milieu setting, offering clinically appropriate interventions in areas such as processing, mediating arguments, implementing and coaching coping strategies, resolving conflict, and addressing socio-emotional issues. Help clients apply therapy strategies (grounding, deep breathing) in real-world situations.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the house therapist to meet the clinical needs of clients in the home.
Home Visits: Conduct home visits, working effectively in a socially diverse environment.
Resource Development: Seek opportunities to build clinical resources, group curriculum, and rewards programs to support the therapeutic environment.
Documentation: Take over the paper documentation for one client in its entirety, completing necessary documents (ITPs, MHAs, Staffing notes, court summaries, etc.) within the required time frame.
Collaboration with Collateral Contacts: Communicate with external team members on behalf of the client, focusing on treatment and advocacy.
Training and Meetings: Attend training offered during the internship and house team meetings when available.

Qualifications:

• Must be a student in a Master’s Level program for social work or counseling.
• Must have an interest in clinical treatment services for the adolescent population.
• Previous experience working with youth populations is preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age to intern.
