Job Description:
Sinclair Broadcast Group is seeking an ARC Intern for their news department in Las Vegas, NV, at the KSNV station. This internship offers hands-on experience in news reporting and journalism within a fast-paced news environment. The intern will contribute to the creation of compelling news stories, assist in research, conduct interviews, and observe the behind-the-scenes workings of a newsroom. Sinclair’s newest news concept is ARC: Authentic, Relevant, and Community focused news. ARC is a unique concept that was created to reach the modern viewer with updated style, graphics, and music. The intern will work alongside seasoned journalists, including reporters, anchors, producers, editors, and photographers, both in-house and in the field. Training will be provided on various aspects of news production, including producing news segments, researching and pitching stories, and operating camera equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Work with reporters, anchors, producers, editors, and photographers, in-house and out in the field
• Receive training on various topics including how to produce a news segment from the control room, how to research and pitch a great story, how to operate camera equipment, what shots matter, and more
Qualifications:
• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or be considered a recent graduate
• Must be at least in your sophomore year of an accredited college/university
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Willing to work approximately 15 hours a week for 10 weeks, beginning in June 2025 or sooner. There may be a variety in hours due to our news programming schedules
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to work from our Las Vegas, NV location. This internship is located at the KSNV station.
