The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law is a nonpartisan law and policy institute that seeks to improve the systems of democracy and justice in the United States. The Brennan Center is a think-tank, advocacy group, and communications hub that uses rigorous research to craft innovative policies and fight for them in various arenas.
Job Description:
The Brennan Center for Justice is seeking interns to join their Communications department on the Brennan en Español (BEE) team. This is an in-person internship at their New York office, requiring approximately 10-20 hours per week from September to December 2025, at a pay rate of $17.50 per hour.
The intern will provide research, writing, and administrative support to the BEE team. Responsibilities include:
• Assisting with general research and administrative work for the Brennan Center, including coordinating meetings and drafting routine correspondence.
• Helping the BEE team with research for various projects, including the team’s newsletter.
• Writing social media messaging and assisting with social media posting.
• Contributing to videos for social media platforms, including helping with writing scripts and the editing and recording of videos. (Experience on-camera is a plus but not required.)
• Monitoring coverage in the Spanish-language and Latino press, and announcements and events by Latino organizations.
Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is an independent self-starter, detail-oriented, energetic, punctual, and highly organized. Interns must have excellent research, writing, and analytical skills, as well as a passion for the Brennan Center’s issues. Experience with Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word is a must. Database experience is very helpful.
The internship is open to current undergraduate students.
