Job Description:

This is a Manufacturing Engineering Intern/Co-Op position for the Summer of 2025 located in Holland, MI. It’s a full-time position, Monday through Friday.

As an intern, you’ll assist and support a Manufacturing Engineer in one of the battery-manufacturing departments.

Learning Objectives:

• Learn the general battery production process.
• Understand battery materials – strength and composition.
• Gain practical application knowledge of locking mechanisms and fasteners.

Responsibilities:

• Work with engineers and operators to troubleshoot machines on the production floor to ensure the highest yield and Optimal Equipment Efficiency.
• Interface with team members in the plant and office, as well as external suppliers, contractors, etc.
• Evaluate existing procedures and production methods for opportunities to improve quality and efficiency.
• Improve production processes by creating various standard operating procedures ensure understanding and correct implementation to floor.
• Develop procedures, forms, checklists, and schedules to support process development and improvement.
• Research new technologies, equipment, and supplies to help improve the operation.

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering – Junior or Senior standing
• Minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 GPA or higher
• Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to new tasks and projects
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
• Demonstrated teamwork and effectiveness in accomplishing goals
