Job Description
This is a diagnostic radiology position under the supervision of a licensed X-Ray Technologist, Supervisor, Manager/Director of Imaging Services, and Radiologist. The X-Ray Technician is responsible for:
• Performing radiographic imaging procedures while obtaining optimal image quality.
• Providing personalized patient care, recognizing the worth and dignity of each patient.
• Ensuring compliance with patient care quality standards for all age groups, from neonate to geriatric.
• Performing duties consistent with Mercy’s mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications
• Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Currently enrolled in a nationally accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current BLS certification.
• Other: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Basic computer knowledge.
• Physical and Mental Requirements: Capability to manipulate X-ray equipment, carry cassettes, select exposure factors, evaluate radiographs, lift and move patients, stand and walk continually, recognize emergency situations, adapt to a fast-paced workload, and communicate effectively.
• Preferred: Additional languages preferred.
