Job Description: Data Scientist
Skai’s Data Science team is responsible for building AI proof of concepts to advance the product roadmap and enable customers to utilize Skai’s algorithmic products. The ideal candidate will possess strong data analysis and programming skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of AI concepts. Crucially, they should be able to clearly explain complex mathematical concepts to non-technical audiences and adopt a consultative approach to client needs. This role reports to the CTO and is located in Skai’s New York City office.
Responsibilities:
• Build and own proof of concepts: From initial idea to final product, including client demos and rapid iteration based on feedback.
• Client and Partner Representation: Advocate for Skai’s algorithmic solutions and data-driven approaches, consulting on optimal setup and usage of Skai’s optimization products.
• Product Expertise: Develop a comprehensive understanding of Skai’s optimization capabilities and relevant products for both customer-facing and internal training/support purposes.
• Research Team Contribution: Provide client feedback and analysis to inform data-driven decisions that advance the product roadmap.
• Customer Data Analysis: Utilize ML and statistical methods to help clients interpret A/B test results, compare attribution strategies, and more.
• Internal Tool Development: Build internal tools to automate data analysis, providing proactive and reactive support for Skai’s optimization products.
Required Skills/Attributes:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience applying AI/ML/GenAI to business challenges.
• Proficiency in Python.
• SQL skills: Experience querying data from relational databases.
• Understanding of statistics, modeling, and NLP.
• Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment, working independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication: Ability to translate complex mathematical and analytical concepts for diverse audiences (teams and executives).
• Effective data storytelling.
• Strong teamwork (internal and client-facing).
• Internet marketing industry experience (a plus).
• A/B testing knowledge and experience (a plus).
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree preferred), ideally in analytics-related fields (finance, business, engineering, information systems, math, science, etc.).
• 2+ years of experience in consulting/data science/marketing analytics roles.
Compensation:
The annual salary range is $130,000 – $145,000, depending on experience, skills, and internal equity. Quarterly bonus compensation is also available through Skai’s incentive plans.
