Job Description: Engineering Intern (Corrections Division)

This paid summer internship (8-10 weeks) offers hands-on experience within Securitas Technology Corporation’s Corrections division. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers and project managers, supporting projects for correctional facilities (jails and prisons).

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support: Shadowing engineers and project managers on active customer projects. This involves gaining exposure to the design, wiring, and commissioning phases of security system installations within correctional settings.
Administrative Tasks: Performing general administrative duties as assigned.
Reporting & Documentation: Preparing reports and other information for internal use; developing executive summaries on major projects or activities.
Other Duties: Performing other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
Currently enrolled in an Engineering degree program (electrical, computer, or software engineering specializations). Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
Residency in the Indianapolis area and willingness to work on-site at a Securitas office.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential/private information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

AutoCAD experience
Prior internship experience
Openness to occasional travel between customer sites and the local office.
