Job Description: Engineering Intern (Corrections Division)
This paid summer internship (8-10 weeks) offers hands-on experience within Securitas Technology Corporation’s Corrections division. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers and project managers, supporting projects for correctional facilities (jails and prisons).
Key Responsibilities:
• Technical Support: Shadowing engineers and project managers on active customer projects. This involves gaining exposure to the design, wiring, and commissioning phases of security system installations within correctional settings.
• Administrative Tasks: Performing general administrative duties as assigned.
• Reporting & Documentation: Preparing reports and other information for internal use; developing executive summaries on major projects or activities.
• Other Duties: Performing other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Currently enrolled in an Engineering degree program (electrical, computer, or software engineering specializations). Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
• Residency in the Indianapolis area and willingness to work on-site at a Securitas office.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential/private information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
• AutoCAD experience
• Prior internship experience
• Openness to occasional travel between customer sites and the local office.
