Job Description: Backend Engineer
Pinterest seeks inquisitive, well-rounded Backend Engineers for its Core and Monetization engineering teams. Working collaboratively with product managers, designers, and other engineers, successful candidates will play a key role in developing new technologies and experiences. Responsibilities include:
• Building the backend: Develop backend systems for user-facing features, shaping the future of Pinterest’s inspiration platform.
• Full product lifecycle involvement: Contribute to and lead all stages of product development, from initial ideas to final release, including prototyping, A/B testing, architecture, and scalable solutions for millions of users.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with design, product, and backend teams to create complete functionalities.
• Idea generation: Propose innovative product ideas and features.
• Automated testing: Implement automated testing to build high-quality, reliable features, taking ownership of developed components.
• Professional growth: Collaborate with top-tier engineers on impactful projects, fostering continuous professional development.
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of backend development experience in building consumer or business-facing products.
• Proficiency in common backend technologies for RESTful APIs, storage, caching, and data processing.
• Experience with best practices in writing reliable and maintainable code for large teams.
• Ability to stay current with emerging technologies and assess their applicability.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

• The position includes equity in addition to the base salary range of $118,938—$244,872 USD (US based applicants only). The final salary depends on factors like location, travel, experience, and skills.
