Job Description:
This role within Airbnb’s Hotels organization involves designing and implementing complex features for their hotel booking platform. The position requires a data-driven approach, emphasizing performance optimization. Responsibilities include:
• Software Development: Architecting and implementing complex backend/full-stack features.
• Collaboration: Working with engineers and cross-functional teams to define and prioritize technical requirements.
• Technical Expertise: Staying current with leading-edge practices in workflow orchestration systems. Contributing to and improving coding standards, development processes, and best practices.
• System Quality: Demonstrating a passion for efficiency, availability, and overall system quality.
• Communication: Possessing excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Architecture: Experience with backend systems in large-scale service-oriented architectures.
Required Expertise:
• 2+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in backend/full-stack development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s/PhD degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Exposure to Java and/or Kotlin.
• Passion for efficiency, availability, technical quality, and system quality.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with backend systems in large-scale service-oriented architectures.
