Job Description: Backend Engineer
Pinterest seeks inquisitive, well-rounded Backend engineers for its Core and Monetization engineering teams. Working collaboratively with product managers, designers, and other engineers, successful candidates will play a crucial role in developing and implementing new technologies and experiences.
Responsibilities:
• Build backend systems: Develop the backend for user-facing features, shaping the future of Pinterest’s inspiration platform.
• Full product lifecycle involvement: Contribute to and lead all stages of product development, from initial concepts and rapid prototyping to A/B testing, architecture, scalable development, and release, supporting millions of users.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with design, product, and backend teams to create complete functionality.
• Proactive idea generation: Propose new product ideas and features based on user understanding.
• High-quality code: Employ automated testing to ensure high-quality, maintainable code, taking ownership of developed components and features.
• Continuous learning: Grow professionally by collaborating with experienced peers on impactful projects.
Qualifications:
• 2+ years of backend development experience in building consumer or business-facing products.
• Proficiency in common backend technologies for RESTful APIs, storage, caching, and data processing.
• Experience with best practices for writing reliable, maintainable code for large teams.
• Ability to stay updated on new technologies and incorporate relevant advancements.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

• The base salary range is $118,938—$244,872 USD (US-based applicants only). Equity is also offered. Final compensation depends on location, travel, experience, skills, and expertise.
