Job Description: Machine Learning Intern
This is a full-time, on-site internship in either Boston, MA or Pittsburgh, PA. Interns will work alongside the team responsible for developing key technologies like nuScenes, PointPillars, Point Painting, MotionTrack End-to-End Tracking, PBP Trajectory Prediction, and DriveIRL.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the development of machine learning technologies for self-driving cars, adhering to Motional’s high standards of quality, scientific rigor, and innovation.
• Research and develop innovative ML strategies for challenging problems in autonomous driving.
• Collaborate with diverse engineering teams across Motional, gaining exposure to various projects and disciplines.
• Execute assigned tasks, meet deadlines, and proactively explore new ideas.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a Masters or PhD program in Computer Science, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a similar technical field.
• Demonstrated research and development interest through academic projects or publications in top-tier conferences (RSS, ICRA, CoRL, CVPR, ICRL, ICML, NeurIPS, etc.).
• Relevant experience (internships, full-time roles, or research) in computer vision, content recommendation, non-linear optimization, reinforcement learning, deep learning, or robotics.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch (or other deep learning frameworks).
The internship offers a competitive salary ($35,000 – $55,000 USD) and benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and more. The salary range is an estimate and depends on factors like experience and location.
