Job Description: Audit Internship
This internship is currently only open to students from specific universities (Baylor University, Louisiana State University, Sam Houston State University, Southern Methodist University, Stephen F. Austin University, Texas Lutheran University, Texas State University – San Marcos, Texas Tech University, University of Houston, University of Mississippi – Ole Miss, University of North Texas – Denton, University of Texas at Austin, University of Texas at Dallas) due to their earlier recruiting cycles.
As an intern in Crowe’s Audit and Assurance practice, you will gain in-depth exposure to auditing. You’ll work closely with experienced professionals, learning about daily responsibilities and current issues affecting the profession.
Responsibilities include:
• Sharpening analytical skills by auditing client financials, transactions, and internal control processes.
• Working independently and collaboratively with a diverse team.
• Utilizing audit tools and technologies (advanced analytics, data visualizations, process flow automation) to analyze client data and deliver exceptional client service.
• Contributing to diverse client engagements across various industries (manufacturing and distribution, not-for-profit, government, healthcare, education, construction, dealerships, food and agriculture, insurance, and financial institutions).
• Working on benefit plan audits (401(k), pension, or employee stock ownership plans).
• Taking initiative and seeking on-the-job learning opportunities within a collaborative team culture.
Requirements:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s in Accounting or a similar degree.
• CPA-eligible (150 credit hours) by graduation.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Experience with data analytics (strongly desired).
• Relevant work experience (internships, summer positions, school jobs).
• Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel.
The hourly wage range is estimated at $27.00 – $42.00. Crowe notes that hiring at the top of the range is not typical.
