Detailed Job Description: Engineering Summer Internship Program (Summer 2025)

Johnson & Johnson is offering an 8-week Engineering Summer Internship Program (June 2025 – August 2025, dates may be flexible) for rising first-year college students. This program is specifically targeted towards students who participated in the FIRST Robotics program in high school and are pursuing a STEM degree at the university level.

Internship Highlights:

Real-world experience: Hands-on projects providing experience in Supply Chain or Research & Development functions.
Mentorship and coaching: Support and guidance throughout the internship.

Structured learning: A designed educational experience to ensure success in a corporate environment.
Skill development: Improvement of leadership, analytical, and project management skills.
Cross-functional teamwork: Collaboration with individuals across Innovative Medicine, MedTech, and Corporate/Enterprise sectors.
On-site work: Requires at least 3 days per week on-site at one of the internship locations (Raritan, NJ; Raynham, MA; Cincinnati, OH; Santa Clara, CA; Jacksonville, FL). Commutable distance is required; some roles may offer a one-time housing stipend. Transportation is the intern’s responsibility.
Full-time commitment: 40 hours per week.
Overtime eligibility: The position is eligible for overtime pay.
Benefits eligibility: Potential for participation in company employee benefit programs (medical insurance, sick time, holiday pay, retirement plan), subject to plan terms.

Qualifications:

Strong preference for candidates with FIRST Robotics Program experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Full-time availability (40 hours/week) for the 8-week program.
• Enrollment in an accredited college/university Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Science, or a related STEM field.
• Completion of high school and entering freshman year of college by the internship start date.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Commutable distance (≤50 miles) from one of the internship locations.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills (preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and drive results.
• Strong problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and a dedicated approach.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to team goals.
• Intention to pursue an engineering degree (preferred).
• Participation in campus programs or community service (desired).

Compensation:

• hourly pay: $19.00 – $51.50 per hour (based on grade level, program year, discipline, degree, and/or experience).
• Overtime eligible.
