Job Description: Engineering Summer Internship Program (Summer 2025)
Johnson & Johnson offers an 8-week summer internship program for rising first-year college students who participated in the FIRST Robotics program during high school and are pursuing a STEM degree. The program is designed for students with limited corporate experience, providing a structured learning environment.
Program Details:
• Duration: 8 weeks (June 2025 – August 2025, dates may be flexible). Some teams may offer extended internships.
• Locations: Raritan, NJ; Raynham, MA; Cincinnati, OH; Santa Clara, CA; and Jacksonville, FL. Onsite presence is required at least 3 days per week; commutable distance is necessary. A one-time housing stipend may be offered for some roles. Transportation is the intern’s responsibility.
• Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), overtime eligible.
• Eligibility: Company benefit programs may be available.
• Areas: Internships support either Supply Chain or Research & Development functions within Innovative Medicine, MedTech, and Corporate/Enterprise sectors. Potential areas include R&D Engineering, Advanced/Manufacturing Technologies, Supply Chain Planning/Management, Process Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Operations Engineering.
• Experience: The program offers hands-on experience, coaching, mentoring, networking opportunities, and interaction with students from various universities. Projects focus on improving leadership, analytical, and project management skills. Cross-functional teamwork is a key component.
Qualifications:
• FIRST Robotics Program Participation (High School): Strong preference for candidates with this experience.
• Legal Authorization to Work in the U.S.: Sponsorship is not available.
• Full-Time Availability:** 40 hours/week for the 8-week program.
• Enrollment in Accredited College/University:** Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Science, or related STEM field; starting freshman year.
• High School Graduation:** Completed prior to the internship start date.
• Minimum GPA:** 3.0
• Commutable Distance:** Within 50 miles of one of the listed locations.
• Skills:** Strong analytical and quantitative skills are required; excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills are preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects, solve problems, demonstrate intellectual curiosity, and work independently and as part of a team are desired. Proven leadership/participation in campus programs or community service is a plus.
• Degree Intent: Intention to pursue an engineering degree is preferred.
Compensation: The pay rate is $19.00 – $51.50 per hour, depending on grade level, program year, discipline, degree, and/or experience. The position is overtime eligible.
