Job Description: Procurement Internship

This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the homebuilding industry. Interns will gain a holistic understanding of the industry through rotational shadowing across different functions and departments. The primary focus will be within the procurement department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with various roles and departments, fostering connections and breaking down silos.
• Collaborate with vendors, understanding their integral role in operations.
• Gain practical experience in bid submittals, negotiation, and cost-saving strategies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student (or graduated in the semester preceding the internship). Minimum sophomore status preferred.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 preferred.
• Relevant degree pursuit in Business Administration, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Marketing, Communication, Finance, Architecture, or a similar field.
Required skills and attributes: Curiosity, coachability, strong interpersonal skills (personable and patient), action-oriented, accountable, motivated, enthusiastic, professional communication skills (written and verbal), strong tech proficiency (especially Excel and Microsoft Teams), excellent organizational skills, self-motivation, learning agility, bias for action, desire to make a meaningful contribution, and a strong interest in the homebuilding, real estate, and/or construction industry. Extracurricular involvement is a plus.

Internship Details:

Dates: May 19, 2025 – August 8, 2025 (12 weeks). Schedule adjustments possible.
Hours: 40 hours per week, schedule varies by position.
Compensation: $20/hour (may vary based on position and location).
Benefits: Eligibility for the company’s 401(k) plan.
Format: Primarily in-person at one of 29 Division Offices or development communities. Includes shadowing opportunities across various functions and a potential capstone presentation.
Locations: Arizona (Scottsdale), California (Pleasanton), Colorado (Denver), Florida (Bonita Springs, Jacksonville, Orlando, Riverview, West Palm Beach), Nevada (Las Vegas), North Carolina (Charlotte), Texas (Austin, San Antonio).
