Job Description: Perception ML Intern (2025 Program)
Woven by Toyota’s Perception team is seeking a strong machine learning candidate for their 2025 internship program. Interns will work alongside experienced machine learning engineers to advance the state-of-the-art perception system for autonomous driving. This involves working with a mature machine learning infrastructure and a large dataset.
Responsibilities:
• Perception ML Model R&D: Prototyping, validating, and iterating on existing and new model architectures. This includes initial development, optimization, production platform validation, and fine-tuning based on metrics and on-road performance.
• Ownership of New Model Functionality: Taking responsibility for the entire development lifecycle of new model features.
• Teamwork and Efficiency: Demonstrating a collaborative “get things done” mentality.
• Reporting and Presentation: Producing a final report and presenting findings to the autonomy team.
• Collaboration: Working closely with other Perception team members and upstream/downstream teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
• PhD Student/Candidate: Currently pursuing a PhD with a research focus in Computer Vision, Robotics, or Deep Learning.
• Strong PyTorch Knowledge: Extensive experience using PyTorch.
• Deep Learning Expertise: Demonstrated strong proficiency in deep learning techniques.
• Python Programming: Strong Python programming skills.
• Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and precisely communicate technical concepts.
Compensation:
The base pay for this position ranges from $30 to $55 per hour. This is a 12-week temporary internship. Total compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and level.
