Job Description: Solution Engineer (Commercial Pre-Sales)

This role within Snowflake’s Commercial Pre-Sales organization requires a Solution Engineer to collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams. The primary goal is to bring Snowflake’s technology to market and contribute to the company’s growth. This position involves a blend of technical expertise and customer interaction.

Responsibilities:

Technical Presentations and Demonstrations: Present Snowflake’s technology and vision to both executive and technical audiences at prospective and existing clients. This includes hands-on work demonstrating the value of Snowflake throughout the sales cycle, encompassing demos, proof-of-concepts, design, and implementation.
Competitive Analysis: Maintain a thorough understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors, enabling effective positioning of Snowflake within the market.
Product Improvement: Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing teams to continually enhance Snowflake’s products and marketing strategies.
Problem Solving: Solve customer-specific business problems by applying Snowflake’s solutions.
Sales Cycle Support: Work directly with the sales team and channel partners, understanding customer needs, strategizing winning sales approaches, providing compelling demonstrations, supporting enterprise-level Proof of Concepts, and ultimately closing deals.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a pre-sales or post-sales technical role focused on customer interaction.
• Strong understanding and experience with data architecture, data analytics, and cloud technology.
• Hands-on experience with on-premise or cloud-based data warehouse and data lake platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with Python is preferred.
• Experience with modern data technologies (e.g., dbt, Spark, containers, DevOps tooling, orchestration tools, Git) is a plus.
• Experience with data science and machine learning technologies (shallow learning, deep learning, LLMs, Hugging Face, notebooks) is a plus.
• Excellent customer-facing skills for communicating effectively with diverse technical and executive audiences.
• Ability to solve complex customer problems and contribute to closing large deals.
• University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $130,200 to $181,125, a commission plan with on-target earnings estimated between $173,600 and $241,500, and participation in Snowflake’s equity plan.
