About the Company:
The Office of the MTA Inspector General is seeking applicants for a Summer Law Student Internship. The MTA Inspector General is an independent oversight body responsible for investigating allegations of misconduct within the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).
Job Description:
This is a 2025 Summer Law Student Internship offering a temporary, per diem position. The internship is based in New York, NY, at 1 Penn Plaza, Suite 1110, New York, NY 10119. The workweek is Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM, with a flexible schedule allowed (37.5 hours per week). The position is exempt and does not involve travel.
Responsibilities: The intern will be involved in various legal and investigative tasks, including:
• Conducting research on relevant cases and other substantive legal or policy issues.
• Analyzing data and information related to investigative matters.
• Drafting legal memoranda and other documents as requested.
• Attending virtual meetings with the General Counsel and other members of the Legal and Investigative staff.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited law school.
Preferred Skills: Strong computer skills are preferred, with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Additional Information: Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and positions may be filled before the official application deadline (March 10, 2025). The salary range is $22-$22 hourly. Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check.
