Job Description: CNN Heroes Intern (NYC – Summer 2025)

This paid internship, located in NYC, requires a regular in-office presence aligned with the intern manager’s schedule. The internship supports the CNN Heroes initiative, an award-winning program profiling individuals making a positive impact. The program features stories across various CNN platforms (CNN, HLN, CNN International, CNN Español, CNN.com, and social media).

Responsibilities include:

• Attending weekly department planning meetings.
• Utilizing CNN databases for video access, research, and interdepartmental communication.
• Research, logging, transcribing, and assisting with organizational and administrative tasks, including video and image searches.
• Pitching ideas for nominations and Hero packages.
• Assisting with local field shoots and the annual Tribute Show production (where possible).

Qualifications & Experience:

• Passion for news.
• Self-motivated and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Active enrollment in an accredited college or university (proof required); rising junior or senior status (18+ years old).
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Authorization to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship. (Candidates on student or exchange visas are ineligible).

Additional Details:

Program Duration: 11 weeks (two options for start/end dates: June 2nd – August 15th or June 9th – August 22nd).
Work Hours: 35-40 hours per week, hybrid capacity.
Compensation: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns.
Credit: Not required, but documentation for school credit is provided if needed.
Relocation: Not provided.
Interviewing: February – mid-April.
