Job Description: Onshape Product Management Intern – Industrial Design Focus
This internship focuses on contributing to Onshape’s Product Management team. The team is responsible for defining the product strategy, roadmap, and priorities. Product Managers are deeply involved in the development process, working with project teams, customers, and ensuring features meet and exceed expectations. Data sources used for decision-making include customer interviews, industry research, product telemetry, and competitive analysis, combined with the team’s own expertise.
Responsibilities:
As an intern, you’ll work on:
• Market research: Contributing to market research efforts to inform product strategy.
• Roadmap planning: Participating in the planning and execution of new features, specifically within the Industrial Design/Product Design area.
• Prototyping: Building proofs of concept and working prototypes using Onshape’s FeatureScript programming language to demonstrate and test ideas.
• Stakeholder communication: Meeting with various stakeholders, including customers and internal teams (development, UX, QA), to discuss requirements and participate in project development.
• Data analysis & presentation: Sharing preliminary findings through presentations and mockups.
• Collaboration: Working closely with other Product Managers to learn best practices and receive guidance.
Qualifications:
• Strong background and interest in Industrial Design, aesthetic product design, surface model building, and photorealistic rendering.
• Strong CAD background, including experience with Industrial Design (CAID) software.
• Some experience with scripting languages like Python or JavaScript to build prototypes in Onshape.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
