Job Description: Full Stack Software Development Internship

This is a 10-week full-time hybrid internship running from June 2, 2025, to August 8, 2025, based in Ashburn, VA. The role involves a mix of working from home and in-office days (minimum eight per month), as determined by the manager. Relocation assistance may be available if needed.

Responsibilities:

Interns will be immersed in meaningful projects with tangible business impact. Specific projects may involve enhancing skills in several areas, including:

5G Technology
AR/VR and Computer Vision
Application Development: SaaS development, scripting
Back-end Development: Express, Flask, Ruby
Development Tools & Languages: .NET, C, C++, J2EE, Python, Java
Enterprise Development: logging and monitoring, rules engine
Front-end Development: React.js, Ember, Vue
Analytics: Data processing and analytical skills
Mobile Development: Android/iOS
Service APIs: microservices, RESTful services, web services
Web Development: browsers, web development frameworks
Operating Systems: Linux, Solaris, Windows
Software: server and application design, engineering, and evaluation
Development Methods: quality assurance, object-oriented programming, secure SW development lifecycle

Qualifications:

Required:
• Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program (Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, or related fields) with a graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Good academic standing.
• Coursework or demonstrated experience in scripting and coding (e.g., Python, Java, SQL).
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
• Willingness to travel and work in the assigned Verizon office.

Preferred:
• Strong written and communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik).
• Knowledge of mobile development (iOS, Android).
• Knowledge of service API integration (microservices, RESTful APIs, web services).
• Knowledge of web development (frameworks, browsers, embedded applications).
• Understanding of QA, automation tools, and/or secure SW development lifecycle.
