Job Description: Legal Internship/Traineeship
This internship offers support to the legal department and specialist departments at Canon Production Printing Germany GmbH & Co. KG. The successful candidate will assist in processing and resolving legal issues and drafting contracts, particularly in the areas of:
• Development, Production, and Sales: Legal support related to the creation, manufacturing, and sale of printing systems.
• International Purchasing: Handling legal aspects of sourcing materials and components from global suppliers.
• General Contract Law: Reviewing and drafting various types of contracts.
• Copyright Law: Protecting intellectual property rights related to the company’s products and technologies.
• (Software) Licensing Law: Managing legal aspects of software licenses and agreements.
• Data Protection Law: Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
Responsibilities will include:
• Handling legal matters from various areas of civil and commercial law.
• Preparing internal memos, expert opinions, and decision papers.
• Assisting in the drafting and review of contracts.
• Participating in internal and external meetings.
• Contributing to projects, conducting research, and preparing expert opinions.
• Independently performing advisory tasks.
The ideal candidate will possess a completed first state examination in law, ideally with prior experience or a strong interest in contract law, IT, and data protection law. Strong MS Office skills, excellent written and spoken German and English are essential. The position requires the ability to understand, present, and solve complex economic and legal issues clearly and concisely; excellent communication, independent work, and service-oriented skills; a confident demeanor; strong negotiating and communication abilities; conscientiousness, loyalty, and discretion; and high self-motivation, responsibility, and flexibility. The internship is for a minimum of three months and is based in Poing, Germany.
