Job Description: Corporate Tax Intern/Trainee

This internship within PwC’s core tax practice offers experience in various aspects of corporate tax services. The role involves working as part of a team to solve complex business issues. The job description highlights the following key responsibilities and activities:

Client Service & Tax Advisory: Advising clients on local and international tax matters, acting as a strategic consultant on business analysis, working capital management, and profit sharing for partners. Providing guidance on transfer pricing (pricing of goods and services between related parties) and the tax implications of business deals. Helping clients improve their tax function to mitigate risk and enhance decision-making. This includes focusing on tax strategy, compliance, maximizing post-tax profits, and implementing best corporate tax practices.

Tax Compliance & Research: Participating in tax compliance engagements. Conducting research on tax laws, rules, and regulations, applying this knowledge to specific client situations.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Utilizing various tools and techniques to support research, analysis, and problem-solving. Handling, manipulating, and analyzing data responsibly. Producing high-quality work adhering to professional standards. Keeping up-to-date with technical developments in the field.

Communication & Teamwork: Communicating effectively (verbally and in writing) in a clear, concise, and articulate manner. Working collaboratively with team members, building strong relationships, and embracing diverse viewpoints.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a 3.0 GPA or higher. 0 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Ideally, candidates are in their 3rd year of a 4-year program or 4th year of a 5-year program, participating in a winter/spring or summer internship. Meeting educational requirements for CPA licensure is preferred (either having satisfied the 150-credit-hour requirement or demonstrating a path to licensure through reciprocity). Experience researching business and industry trends, exposure to automation and digitization in a professional services environment, and working with large datasets are also preferred. A strong desire to pursue a career in tax is essential.
