Job Description: AI/ML Internship at InterDigital AI Lab (Silicon Valley)
The InterDigital AI Lab in Silicon Valley seeks motivated Ph.D. students for full-time, on-site internships focusing on AI/ML applications in wireless communications. Interns will contribute to developing proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and research ideas that integrate machine learning and AI with signal processing and wireless technologies. Successful candidates will have opportunities to publish their work in leading conferences.
Areas of Focus:
• Deep learning for signal processing and wireless communications.
• Formulating and solving non-convex, stochastic, and combinatorial optimization problems.
• Advancing the state-of-the-art in AI/ML for signal processing and wireless communication.
• Research and design of ML algorithms for next-generation (6G) wireless communication systems.
Specific Research Problems:
• Deep learning and optimization methods for channel modeling and parameter estimation.
• Generative models for temporally and spatially consistent wireless data.
• Methods to measure and improve model generalization.
• Interoperability of independently trained neural networks.
Qualifications:
• Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Publications or research experience in machine learning, deep learning, data mining, or optimization.
• A strong background in wireless communication and/or signal processing is highly desired.
• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.

Compensation: A reasonable estimate of the current salary range specific to New York/CA is $45 – $55/hr and may include other forms of compensation components including benefits depending on the length of the assignment.
