Job Description: Summer Internship (New York, 2025)

This paid, nine-week summer internship (June 9, 2025 – August 8, 2025) at Christie’s Rockefeller Center offices requires a 40-hour work week. The internship offers a dynamic environment to share ideas, build mentor-mentee relationships, and explore career paths within a leading auction house. Benefits include gallery tours, team-building activities, organized events, and networking opportunities.

Responsibilities: The internship will involve a variety of tasks, depending on the department. These may include:

General Administrative Tasks: Performing tasks assigned by the line manager.
Data Management: Keeping Christie’s internal systems updated.
Provenance Research: Assisting specialists with provenance research, managing the department library, and maintaining consignor files.
Client Communication: Responding to client inquiries about condition reports, images, and fact sheets.
Research: Researching works for upcoming sales using Christie’s libraries, public libraries, auction databases, and online resources.
Cataloging & Condition Checks: Assisting Junior Specialists with cataloging and condition checks for consigned property.
Proposal Preparation: Supporting the proposal preparation process.
“Hilling” Sessions: Attending sessions where specialists review works and share knowledge.
Auction Preview Installations: Assisting with installations, including compiling, printing, and mounting lot cards.
Client Research (Analyst Support): Supporting analysts with client research, including Artnet searches, compiling sales spreadsheets, and catalog research.
Social Media Support: Contributing to social media posts by writing copy and editing images.
Shipping Support: Reviewing the shipping queue daily, checking for payment, and facilitating timely shipment release.

Qualifications:

• Rising Junior or Senior pursuing an undergraduate degree in the U.S. (graduation between June 2026 and June 2027).
• Full commitment to the nine-week program.
• Passion for fine art, luxury, and the auction industry.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills.
• Intellectual curiosity and collaborative spirit.

Compensation: Hourly rate: $22.00 – $22.00 (excluding bonus and overtime). Application Deadline: December 31, 2024.
