Job Description: Corporate Tax Intern/Trainee

This internship within PwC’s Corporate Tax services offers the opportunity to contribute to a team solving complex business issues. Interns will work on various aspects of tax compliance and advisory services, gaining practical experience in a professional services environment.

Responsibilities:

Client Service & Advisory: Assisting clients in meeting their tax obligations, managing the tax impact on their businesses, advising on local and international tax matters, acting as a strategic consultant on business analysis, working capital management, and profit sharing. Providing guidance on transfer pricing implications and the tax implications of deals. Improving client tax functions to manage risk and improve decision-making. Focusing on tax strategy, compliance, increasing post-tax profits, and application support for best corporate tax practices.
Project Work: Participation in phases of tax compliance engagements; researching tax laws, rules, and regulations and analyzing their application to specific situations.
Teamwork & Collaboration: Working as a team member, building relationships with colleagues, demonstrating creative thinking and initiative, proactively seeking guidance and feedback, and demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing tasks.
PwC Professional Skills: Developing skills in curiosity, broad thinking, data analysis, problem-solving, producing high-quality work, staying updated on technical developments, responsible data handling, clear communication (written and verbal), embracing diverse viewpoints, and upholding ethical conduct. This involves utilizing various tools and techniques.
Specific Intern Tasks: Researching business and industry trends, developing points of view for proposals, innovating with technology and digitization solutions, working with large datasets to build models and use data visualization tools.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a 3.0 GPA. Zero years of experience required. Ideally, interns will be in their 3rd year of a 4-year program or 4th year of a 5-year program, joining during winter/spring or summer before graduation.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience researching and analyzing tax laws, interacting with clients and firm management, demonstrating self-motivation, and possessing a desire for a career in tax. Experience with automation & digitization in a professional services environment is a plus. Meeting educational requirements for the CPA license (150 credit hours) is preferred.

Compensation: The salary range is $28.00 – $44.75 (specific to Maryland; may vary by location). A comprehensive benefits package is offered.
