Job Description: Tax Intern – Global Executive & Private Client Group
KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern for its Global Executive & Private Client Group practice. This internship offers a multifaceted experience focused on international tax implications for high-profile clients.
Responsibilities:
• International Tax Compliance & Planning: Support clients in analyzing the tax implications of international work, preparing individual income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions (Federal and State), analyzing and utilizing foreign tax credits and tax treaties, and identifying opportunities for global tax planning to minimize tax costs.
• International Business Setup: Assist corporations in establishing operations in new countries, ensuring compliance with applicable tax and social tax rules for both corporations and executive personnel.
• Executive Compensation & Global Payroll: Help determine appropriate compensation packages for internationally assigned executives. Support the global payroll process, calculating payments across multiple locations while maintaining compliance with relevant laws.
• Global Mobility Program Support: Provide global coordination and support to corporate clients on all aspects of managing their global workforce, including implementing relevant processes and technologies.
• Engagement Support: Assist Associates and Senior Associates with engagement administration and scoping efforts.
• Technology Development: Build capabilities in key technologies used for client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.
Qualifications:
• Education: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Human Resources, or Finance (or equivalent). A preferred GPA of 3.0 or above is desired. Upon internship completion, additional academic credits must be remaining to fulfill degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
• Language Skills: Bilingualism in English and Japanese is a plus, with the ability to utilize both languages in a business setting.
• Skills & Abilities: Ability to analyze basic tax and accounting information; demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude; critical thinking skills; proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook); excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; flexibility and adaptability as a team player; resourcefulness in delivering high-quality work; ability to learn and utilize technologies such as AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Location & Travel: Must reside within reasonable commuting distance to the office and be able to travel to client premises as needed (potentially with short notice). Personal transportation (vehicle or public transport) is required.
• Legal Authorization: Authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring employment-based visa sponsorship is preferred.
