Job Description: Tax Intern

KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern to join its Tax practice. The role involves a wide range of responsibilities, including:

Tax Compliance, Advisory, and Planning: Performing tax-related tasks for diverse clients across various industries (including multistate and multinational enterprises, partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations). This encompasses compliance, advisory, and planning activities.
Data Analytics: Participating in data analytics projects utilizing KPMG’s technology. This includes creating tax return work papers and tax returns, and coordinating with offshore resources.
Tax Due Diligence: Conducting due diligence to pinpoint tax exposures and opportunities.
State and Local Tax (SALT): Assisting multi-state companies with SALT issues, encompassing compliance, advisory, planning, and controversy resolution.
Multinational Enterprise Advisory: Advising multinational enterprises on strategic business decisions (e.g., location, entity choice, supply chain optimization, capital access) and tax planning (anticipating short- and long-term implications, considering multinational tax risk profiles, global effective tax rates, and cash flow).
Teamwork and Client Relations: Working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams on assignments and maintaining strong client relationships.
Technology Proficiency: Building expertise in key technologies used in tax client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.
Professionalism: Maintaining integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility within KPMG’s work environment.
