Job Description:
This is a hybrid internship position located in the Westwood, MA office. The Building Services Team and Projects focus on building design and inspection for new facilities, additions, and renovations. This includes evaluating and designing all building structural systems (roof decks, beams and girders, columns, masonry bearing walls, below grade concrete walls, and structural slabs), equipment support structures, tanks and containment structures, as well as vehicular and pedestrian bridges.
Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will work on various mechanical and HVAC engineering tasks under the supervision of experienced engineers. Specific tasks include:
• Developing design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Performing HVAC load and sizing calculations.
• Reviewing contractor construction submittals to ensure compliance with project design specifications.
• Assisting senior engineers in field investigations to document the condition of existing HVAC systems.
Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in a BS Mechanical Engineering program with at least 2 years of completed coursework.
• Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills, flexibility, positive attitude, and open-mindedness.
• Experience using design software (helpful, not required).
Compensation:
The hourly rate is $19-$26, depending on years of completed education.
