Job Description: Optics and Photonics Student Internship
This internship offers a chance to apply your education to real-world engineering problems using Ansys’ industry-leading optics design/simulation software, Speos. You’ll gain valuable career skills and experience working at a cutting-edge company.
As a student intern in the Customer Excellence team, you will:
• Develop new simulation methodologies
• Troubleshoot problem set-ups
• Run simulation benchmarks
• Update industry best practices for modeling and simulating engineered products and processes using Speos
• Contribute to Ansys training course material updates
• Conduct literature searches to locate relevant publications and experimental data
• Write detailed technical reports and present results to Ansys teams
• Participate in field testing based on new feature developments
• Network with the Customer Excellence team to learn about various job functions
Requirements:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or another technical discipline.
• Enrolled as an engineering student (B.S., M.S. or Ph.D.) in an accredited American university. (PhD students should be entering their third year or beyond)
• Authorized to work in America without requiring sponsorship.
• Able to work at the advertised location without requiring relocation assistance.
• Motivated to learn with strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
• Demonstrated skills in writing, understanding, and presenting in fluent English.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Engineering Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
• Experience with programming in C# & Python.
• Experience with physics-based simulation software.
