Job Description
The internship is a hands-on, immersive learning experience. Interns will be provided with a specific, individualized learning plan based on their goals and interests.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with reviewing technical data, analyzing information, and ensuring compliance with standards and design concepts.
• Create preliminary and completed layouts, design concepts, and detailed design drawings based on technical notes, sketches, and other drawings.
• Conduct research on standards and codes as needed.
• Apply technical concepts and theoretical design information to real-world situations under the guidance of professional and technical staff.
• Complete project deliverables and responsibilities according to technical staff direction.
• Organize project-related information following company policies and procedures.
• Generate drawings, reports, and other technical deliverables using various applications.
• Follow technical aspects and policies of the department and company.
• Analyze technical problems related to assigned tasks with guidance.
• Utilize current technology for project design.
• Participate in scheduled team meetings and project meetings as needed.
Requirements:
• Required:
• Pursuing a degree in Landscape Architecture or applicable field.
• Energetic, flexible, confident, and forward-thinking.
• Ability to execute tasks under deadlines and work with a project manager to prioritize responsibilities.
• Understanding of planning and/or design concepts and methods commensurate with experience.
• Demonstrated personal investment in career development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Preferred:
• Experience with advanced digital 3D rendering techniques.
• Excellent hand graphics (plans, sections, perspectives).
• Experience with digital drawing tools and techniques.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications, specifically InDesign and Photoshop.
Working Conditions:
• The assignment may require infrequent evening/weekend work and job site visits outdoors.
• Candidates should enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced, and client-driven environment.
Physical Requirements:
• The assignment may occasionally require repetitive physical tasks (such as operating a computer), standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time, extended time traveling in a vehicle, and carrying equipment and materials up to 25 pounds.
