Job Description: Data Science Intern
Ecolab is seeking a Data Science Intern to work on cutting-edge decision science and analytics. This internship provides an opportunity to work on challenging problems related to water safety and conservation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop Predictive Models: Work closely with data scientists and analysts to design and develop data mining and machine learning algorithms to solve real-world problems.
• Identify Innovation Opportunities: Participate in engagement and discovery sessions to identify problems/gaps and opportunities that can be enabled by data analytics and modeling.
• Implement and Test Models: Implement and test models in a POC (proof of concept) scale to operationalize the outcomes of predictive modeling and validate results in real-world scenarios.
• Innovate and Present Solutions: Be encouraged and expected to innovate and be creative in data analysis, problem solving and presentation of solutions.

Start Date: June 2, 2025
Qualifications:
• Minimum: Pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, or related technical field. Expected graduation date of December 2025 or Spring 2026.
• Preferred: Training and/or experience in data analytics/science areas (e.g., time series analysis, forecasting, classification, regression analysis). Experience with tools like Python and R, SQL, source control, and database management technologies. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
