Job Description: Integration & Test Internship

This full-time internship is based in Los Angeles, CA and can be either a Spring (January – May) or Summer (May – September) internship, depending on the university schedule.

As part of the Integration & Test team, you will be working on critical projects during the W-4 work, W5 test campaign, and W6 build. This will involve:

Contributing to hardware or software design: Supporting the development of spacecraft and payloads.
Participating in test campaigns: Creating and supporting test campaigns, and building test stands.
Performing analysis: Supporting development and testing.

This internship is ideal for students looking to gain technical and professional growth while working on impactful projects that are critical to the company’s success. You will collaborate with a team of accomplished aerospace professionals in a startup environment, learning from the best and making contributions that help drive Varda’s success.

Basic Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience in any discipline from project teams or internships
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes (5S, production floor space, etc.)
• Python experience
• Modeling/Assembly CAD experience

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Previous internship or co-op experience
• Previous experience on technical project teams (i.e. Rocket club, formula SAE, etc.)
Mechanical Engineer: Familiarity with NX, GD&T, Thermal Desktop, Matlab/Simulink, Simscape, or other engineering programs
Electrical Engineer: Familiarity with Altium, Matlab, Python, PCB design, Circuit Debugging, Oscilloscopes, Component Test Racks, Hardware-in-the-loop testing (HIL or HITL), wire harness design and building
Material Science: Familiarity with optics and fiber cable testing, process engineering, design-of-experience, experience running vacuum chambers, experience working in a clean room and/or glovebox environment
Software Engineer: Familiarity with Microprocessors and/or FPGAs, C/C++, Python scripting experience, experience setting up CI pipelines and unit tests
