Software Engineering Internship at GlobalFoundries
GlobalFoundries is looking for a Software Engineering intern to participate in the architecture, development, and validation of advanced software that drives the development and validation of Process Design Kits (PDKs).
This internship will provide opportunities to gain experience in software development processes and tools and advanced applications such as ML/AI, through the realization of critical solutions for GF’s PDKs.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
• Working with cross-functional teams to realize outstanding software solutions.
• Architecting and developing Python based software.
• Applying advanced concepts such as AI, where applicable.
Other Responsibilities:
• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship. Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
• Language Fluency: English (Written & Verbal)
• Availability: Ability to work at least 20 hours per week during the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior related internship or co-op experience
• Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
• Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong planning & organizational skills
• Strong skills in Python.
• Firsthand experience with revision tools, e.g., Git, Perforce, Clearcase.
• Experience with EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools is a plus.
• Experience with applying AI solutions is a plus.

Expected Salary Range: $20.00 – $40.00
