About the Experience Design Intern Role
This internship provides a unique opportunity to work within the Experience Design team at Dow Jones, focusing specifically on The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, MarketWatch, and other related news and research products.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Experience Design team to define new user experiences across various Dow Jones platforms.
• Gain valuable insights and mentorship from a multidisciplinary team, including Product, UX Research, Editorial, and Engineering.
• Take ownership of a project or initiative that spans the duration of the internship.
• Implement design direction aligned with Dow Jones’ experience design principles.
• Effectively communicate across different teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop innovative solutions for complex experience design challenges.
• Stay current on trends, tools, and technologies within the experience design field, proactively pursuing knowledge for professional development.
Qualifications:
• Completed at least two years towards a Bachelor’s degree in User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Digital Media or Multimedia Design, Computer Science or Information Technology, or Psychology.
• Demonstrated familiarity with digital product design best practices, including usability, accessibility, and user-centered design procedures.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
• A strong passion for identifying and solving problems.
• A curious and engaged mindset.
• Interest in experience design principles, including information hierarchy, user flow, and typography.
Location:
• This is a hybrid role, based in the New York City office.
Compensation:
• $25.00/hour
