Job Description: Summer 2025 Systems Engineering Intern
Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems is seeking a Summer 2025 Systems Engineering Intern to contribute to the design and development of avionics subsystems.
Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the creation of design solutions for complex engineering problems across the product life cycle.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Define hardware/software interfaces.
• Integrate hardware and software.
• Conduct system tests.
Qualifications:
• Actively pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology or equivalent STEM degree.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of system engineering processes including design or verification.
• Experience working on cross-functional teams (Hardware, Software, Integration/Test).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Location: This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Security Clearance: This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret
Work Schedule: The employee will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. The position offers a 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week schedule.
Compensation: The annual base salary range for this position varies depending on the state and metropolitan area. For California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC, the range is $20,904 – $61,672. For most major metropolitan areas in California and New York, the range is $24,024 – $67,288. For states not referenced above, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, and market and business considerations when extending an offer.
